Cannot install Xbox 360 Accessories Software - posted in All Other Applications: I recently got a wireless Xbox 360 receiver and have been trying to install the drivers for it.
I'm having this issue. Until a few weeks ago, I used to play FIFA 15 and other games with my XBOX 360 controller (USB). All of a sudden, my PC can't recognize it anymore. I happened to buy another one at the time and it can't recognize it either. I also have an Eurocase controller and that one works well. So the issue is the Microsoft driver. I tried reinstalling, uninstalling, manual deleting the driver files and nothing.
When I try to install the driver this message appears: saying that an unexpected error ocurred. The driver I downloaded was from the official site and the 64bit version since I'm using Win7 64. I even tried the 32b version just in case but nothing.
I've been googling this issue for a while now and found no soultion. I still can't use my controllers and I don't even know how or why. I forgot to add that one of the controllers does flash the green light in the center, but to no avail. The PC can't recognize it nor install any drivers.
Care to shed some light on the issue? Thats a bothersome problem. I always do a fresh install of Windows that clears up a lot of confounding problems. You are right. Fresh installs do help. I'm waiting for Win10 so I can do it all at once. Btw, found a solution!

3)Click browse my computer for driver software 4)Click let me pick from a list. 5)Scroll down to Microsoft common controller for window class and choose it 6)Choose version 2.1.0 As you can see, it wasn't just downloading the driver and installing it. When it prompts you to either browse for a driver in my PC or let me pick it from a list, I always chose browse and failed to install. Apparently I had to click the other option and it installs fine. The newer 360 controller that I have perfectly, the older one still can't get recognize.
